Cena

Dinner is my favorite meal. i was never a breakfast person. lunch is pretty awesome, but dinner pretty much owns the day. which is contrary to how diet gurus would suggest we eat. but f them. the other night i ate dinner at Brasserie 8 1/2 (http://www.rapatina.com/brasserie8/). it was restaurant week in NYC, meaning the best eateries have reduced prices and special menus. since my search for an online copy of of the menu came up fruitless, i will attempt to remember some of the highlights (jesse, clarissa, et alia help me out!). appetizers: the sweetbread won of the 3 choices. sweetbread is NOT bread, rather it is a thyroid gland. icky? yes. delicious? surprisingly. there was an eggplant dish that wasn't amazing. duck ravioli with a butternut squash sauce came in second. but the winner of the evening, for me at least, was veal with risotto, served in a ginormous bowl. so creamy! it was my second time eating veal, and my conscience nagged at me a little, until the sensory explosion silenced it. next fancy dinner in the works: Po. check it out: http://www.newyorkmetro.com/listings/restaurant/po01/
